Marvin Arthur (MSW, RSW) is a Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist. He has both Bachelor and Masters of Social Work degrees and is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). He is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and, is Trauma-Informed. Marvin has considerable experience working with young children, adolescents and their families. He began his career with the Children’s Aid Society over 17 years ago and has experience in the following areas: conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and parent/teen conflict.
In Marvin’s private practice, he has extensive experience counselling individuals, couples and families. He works with his clients to address issues related to depression, anxiety, attachment/marital issues, interpersonal relationship challenges, grief, loss and other forms of trauma. Where desired, Marvin also has the ability to practice from a Christian perspective.
At present he is employed by the Peel District School Board as a School Social Worker and provides a range of supports to students and their families in order to help address the social emotional difficulties they may be facing.
